What we collect
When you use the enquiry form we receive what you type into it: your name, email address, postcode and, if you give them, your phone number, your message, the package and options you chose, and any plan you built on the About page. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking.
Why we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange a video call or visit, and prepare a quote. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
Who else handles it
Form submissions are delivered to us by Formspree, which stores them on servers in the United States under standard contractual clauses. The website is hosted by Vercel, which keeps short-lived server logs. We don't sell or share your details for marketing.
How long we keep it
If you don't go ahead, we delete your enquiry within 12 months. If you become a customer, we keep the records we need for the work, warranties and tax for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your details, or object to how we use them, by emailing oli@smarthome.systems. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
This site stores your light or dark mode choice, and any plan you build on the About page, in your own browser only.
